How to Adopt
When you adopt from Cat-Tastrophe, you are bringing home a cat who has already been cared for, loved, and protected. Many of our cats come from situations most people never see. They have survived a world we would not want for any animal. You will often see it in their eyes, and in the way they gently reach for you, like they are saying thank you.
Our goal is to make sure every cat goes to a safe home that matches their needs and personality. Adoption is by appointment.
Adoption Fee
Our adoption fee is $500 dollars. This fee helps offset rescue costs and medical care.
What to Expect
Most cats and kittens have received veterinary care before adoption. This may include vaccines, spay or neuter when age appropriate, and other treatment depending on the cat’s condition and needs.
Step 1
Choose a Cat
Go to our Available Cats page and read each cat profile carefully. Each profile includes notes about personality, medical status, and availability.
Step 4
Provide Proof of Residence
We require proof that you own your home or have permission from your landlord to have a cat. This is a simple step that helps prevent future surrender situations and protects the cat.
Step 2
Contact Us to Schedule an Appointment
After you choose a cat you are interested in, contact us to set up a meet and greet appointment. We will confirm availability and coordinate the next step.
Step 5
Meet & Greet
Meet the cat and spend time getting to know them. Some cats bond quickly. Others need a little time, especially if they are recovering from previous trauma or are still learning to trust. We will be honest about what each cat needs.
Step 3
Complete the Adoption Application
Fill out our adoption application form. This helps us match cats to the right homes and keeps our process safe and consistent.
Step 6
Adoption Day
If approved, we will finalize the adoption and go over care instructions. We are always available if you have questions after adoption.
Important Notes
We do our best to respond as quickly as possible, but we are a small, foster based rescue. Thank you for your patience.
Some cats may be listed as available but still completing medical treatment or recovery. We will always tell you where things stand.
We reserve the right to decline an application if we believe it is not the right match for the cat.
